REVIEW | Obsidian By Jennifer L. Armentrout

12578077|Blurb|
Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

TITLE: Obsidian
SERIES: Lux (#1)
AUTHOR: Jennifer L. Armentrout
PUBLISHER: Entangled Teen
FORMAT: Ebook
So guys I am going to be completely honest here, I seriously didn't think that I would like a book with a hero who is actually an alien. But holy moley...did I love this book. Actually, I am in awe of this book. This book CAPTURED my attention from its very first page.

Daemon *fans self*...OMG Daemon...I am literally in love with this guy(and he is an alien) but oh so sexy alien...I think I'm gonna turn into a puddle of mush (please ignore my mushiness). Believe me, guys u are definitely going to fall for this alien once u read the book. And for the love of God almighty, he goes all alpha male on Katy (which makes me swoony again).

Katy is a bold character...which adds to their chemistry. I mean an alpha male needs a bold female (I think u get me). Their chemistry is off the charts. What can I say about the sexual tension....for the love of god I felt it (I know it's quite funny but it's true).

So Katy and her mom moves to a small town in an effort to 'start over' after her dad's death and Katy has a book blog. There she meets daemon Black (oh so hot daemon) who is actually her neighbor. Daemon lives with her sister Dee. Dee and Katy form an instant bond like best friends forever types but daemon is against their friendship.

Katy soon senses that something is off about daemon...something is not right about his deeply shining green eyes, about his egoistical attitude. They kind of have haters to lovers sort of relationship and the sexual tension is undeniable. Daemon hates Katy's guts which is also a major turn-on for him.

The author's writing style is freaking lovable and once you start reading, it is hard to put the book down.

“I have a strange idea that I should test this out.”
“Test what?” My eyes dropped to his lips. I felt myself sway.
“I think you would like to know.” He moved closer, his hand sliding up my arm and resting carefully at the nape of my neck.

OMG, this sort of writing and I am a goner.

The book moved at a comfortable pace....but their chemistry was so intense that I was biting my nails the entire time. There came a time when I wanted to shove them at each other and tell them to kiss already.

Their regular banter added the much-needed humor. Big bad villains are also there....so you can expect a lot of action. And believe me 'overprotective daemon' is dreamy.

Guys you are going to love this book just dig into it...literally forget everything and start reading.

"But one thing, this is a five-book series so be prepared for a reading marathon"

This book is different from other romances.....the couple is actually not a couple for the entire book 1 ....but we come to know that somehow they have a connection that most couples don't.

So overall the book is quite exciting, angsty, romantic, mushy all at once.

I devoured this book! I loved every single scene... Honestly, I just can't think of anything that bothered me here or that I didn't like. Anything! Maybe this is just the new fangirl me talking, but I don't know, this book definitely deserves 5 stars.

PS- The book should be made into a movie.

Five Things 'FIVE FEET APART' Taught Us

'Five Feet Apart' is an American Romantic Drama,  inspired by a real-life couple Dalton and Katie Prager, who both suffered from  cystic fibrosis . As you all know that I'm not a movie person, I'd choose books anytime over movies but as I am going through 'Reader's Slump' so I decided to watch Netflix and guess what? I found this treasure. This movie impacted me greatly so I decided to share all my takings with you all. Let's start! 1. Live Big because life don't give us enough chances. 2. Take risks , you never know which moment is your last.  3. Love! Don't be scared of it. Loving won't kill you but not doing it will surely kill a part of you. 4. Take chances! We can die today, we can die tomorrow but we can also make our life worth living. 5. Breathe! Take a deep breath and enjoy your today. We are all on borrowed time. Instead of focusing on making your tomorrow good, make your today even better.

REVIEW: Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending. Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower. Sweet. Caring. Charitable. Quiet. Fake. Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language. Who taught her how to laugh. To live. To love. Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero. Gorgeous. Athletic. Rugged. Popular. Liar. This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna. But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore. When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes. Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy TITLE- Broken Knight AUTHOR- L.J. Shen FORMAT- E
