BOOK REVIEW | Onyx By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS ONE....
I am dumbstruck. This book actually consumed me from the very beginning.
This book is perfect. It had the right amount of mushiness, angst, action, and, romance.

As soon as I finished the first book (obsidian) I picked this one.
Daemon and Katy's chemistry was off the charts.

Onyx literally took me on a rollercoaster ride, I didn't expect so much coming my way.

I loved Katy and really admired her guts but man, did she make some awful mistakes. But in spite of her foolishness, I still loved her. There came a time when I just wanted to stab her....why in the hell she was being so stubborn. I know Daemon didn't treat her right when they first met but still, she should have logically thought that daemon actually did all that to save her from his world.

BUT NO, she was so convinced that Daemon only felt attracted to her because of the connection that joined them together. Daemon being overprotective as ever wanted to save Katy from everything. He was like her shield throughout the book. He tried to convince Katy that they had something more than that 'stupid alien connection' but Katy was her stubborn self. I really wanted to shake some sense into her, it was so frustrating but still, I loved their relationship. I really loved that "connection" theme, it was something fresh.

The ONYX started right from where the OBSIDIAN has ended. Daemon is his usual cocky self but is arrogance is long gone, Katy tries to stay away from him but that is just not possible. The sexual tension between them left me frustrated. They had that push and pull sort of relationship. Katy pushed Daemon away and he pulled her to him. (He just can't stay away from her, believe me, he really tried but it was like they were connected with invisible strings that always joined them together).

In Onyx, we meet new characters and the most amazing part.....we come across sweet!! oh so sweet daemon totally sugar-coated (swooning) maybe this is my fans-self speaking but for the love of god I am a girl and I have a right to turn into a puddle of mush over guys like daemon(even if they are completely imaginary!! duh)...

" If there is anything, there is us. You and me. No one else."

And then enters BLAKE.
Blake and Katy develop an instant friendship (actually she does this just to make daemon jealous). Daemon hated Blake, he knew something was not right, he warned Katy off tried his best to make her understand not to trust blake, but Katy wouldn't even budge. Daemon would call blake with different names which just added the much-needed humor, he would call him flake, biff, and god knows what, but I really liked it. There came a point when Katy actually dated Blake (I mean what the hell man!) Part of me wanted to stab her, slap some sense into her, how could she do this to Daemon. Blake just can't compete with Daemon, Daemon is the definition of awesomeness.

Guys you can't miss the thanksgiving scene, believe me!

The sexual tension between daemon and Katy was just undeniable.

The story moved at a steady pace and then BOOM!! PLOT TWISTS, SHOCKS, SECRETS, MYSTERY, DELUSIONS. The shocks felt like stinging slaps on my face, my jaw dropped. I was like what in the hell had happened. I didn't see it coming. As one shock wore off, I was hit by another.

Yeah, there are a lot of surprises thrown at you!!
You might even cry from frustration but hold on, the best is yet to come. The climax scene is awfully emotional, it tears you apart. I wanted to get into the book and stop everything. Get ready for some crying.

“That's the funny thing about trying to escape. You never really can. Maybe temporarily, but not completely.”

And yeah, I loved their 'alien mojo' connection and I freaking wanted them to have little alien babies*silly me*.

Five Things 'FIVE FEET APART' Taught Us

'Five Feet Apart' is an American Romantic Drama,  inspired by a real-life couple Dalton and Katie Prager, who both suffered from  cystic fibrosis . As you all know that I'm not a movie person, I'd choose books anytime over movies but as I am going through 'Reader's Slump' so I decided to watch Netflix and guess what? I found this treasure. This movie impacted me greatly so I decided to share all my takings with you all. Let's start! 1. Live Big because life don't give us enough chances. 2. Take risks , you never know which moment is your last.  3. Love! Don't be scared of it. Loving won't kill you but not doing it will surely kill a part of you. 4. Take chances! We can die today, we can die tomorrow but we can also make our life worth living. 5. Breathe! Take a deep breath and enjoy your today. We are all on borrowed time. Instead of focusing on making your tomorrow good, make your today even better.

REVIEW: Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending. Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower. Sweet. Caring. Charitable. Quiet. Fake. Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language. Who taught her how to laugh. To live. To love. Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero. Gorgeous. Athletic. Rugged. Popular. Liar. This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna. But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore. When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes. Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy TITLE- Broken Knight AUTHOR- L.J. Shen FORMAT- E
