What the hell is not here to love? All my favorite things in a single book, I loved it!!

I love mafia romances especially with all that Romeo-Juliet and Star-Crossed lovers troupe and this one was exactly that.

The story revolves around Violet Gallucci, an Italian principessa della mafia and Kazimir Markovic, a Russian Bratva heir. Russians and Italians have been enemies as long as anyone can remember but nothing is constant except love.

Kaz and Violet first met as children when their fathers came to an arrangement to end an ongoing war which has resulted in more deaths than they ever imagined. They both developed an instant friendship, unknowing of their family differences.
“Where is the sun, then?” the boy asked.
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?”
Violet laughed. “I closed my eyes, so now I can’t see it,
either.”
“But you were supposed to be helping me see, Violet.”
Alberto watched his daughter’s eyes pop back open
instantly.
“It’s hiding behind the clouds,” she said. “But we’ll find
it again.”
“I don’t know.”

Violet laughed. “I closed my eyes, so now I can’t see it,

Alberto watched his daughter’s eyes pop back open
instantly.
“It’s hiding behind the clouds,” she said. “But we’ll find
it again.”
But unfortunately, that friendship ended just along with their brief meeting.
Fast Forward, 17 years later...

They meet again and all the hell breaks loose.
Violet, in an attempt to get some control over her life, decides to celebrate her 21st birthday in the enemy territory, where she falls into trouble and is ultimately saved by Kaz.
Kaz remembers her as a little girl who helped him see the skin but Violet is just unaware of their shared past. They share an instant connection, an instant attraction.

They both decide to give into the attraction and get each other out of their systems.
But, what meant to be a casual hook up turned into something more.
"Hooking up is a one-time thing. When you start seeking the same person out to fuck again, it no longer falls into that category."
One night turned into two and then into many. Unable to stay away, they just fell deeper and deeper into each other and a secret relationship. They spent every available moment together, trying to forget about the war that lied ahead.

"For her, he was that one soul meant for hers.
And she wasn’t allowed to have him."
And she wasn’t allowed to have him."
But now that they had finally found each other, they were not letting go without a fight.
“You shouldn’t cry when someone tells you they love you,”
he said.
“Should you cry if you’re just figuring out that you love
them, too?”
he said.
“Should you cry if you’re just figuring out that you love
them, too?”

But everything falls apart when they are pulled apart by their betraying families. Now they'll do everything to save each other and get back together, even if it meant war with their blood.

The book started off with a bang. I loved Violet's and Kaz's first meeting. It gives the readers an idea of what to expect. It wasn't a love at first side or something. Their relationship grew deeper with time which helped me to connect with the characters. The only thing I didn't like was Violet's outlook towards her life. She was shown as a naive girl. I would have loved her more if she'd been depicted as a bold mafia princess but her character developed with the story and I really hope to see her as a fearless and bold heroine. Talking about the storyline, it is amazing and the writing style is just perfect. The book did end on a cliffhanger and I'm going to jump into the next book right after I finish my review.

If you love mafia romances with Romeo and Juliet troupe, you are going to love this book.
