ARC Review: Rough by Sybil Bartel

I’m not your boyfriend. I’m not the guy next door. I don’t even play nice.

My hands twisting in your hair, my whispered demand in your ear—I’m the fantasy you’ll wish you never had.

When I’m through with you, every inch of your body will know where I’ve been. Your only thought will be the insatiable ache between your legs as my name drags across your lips. You won’t crave more, you’ll beg for it. Because I’m not just a cocky smile with military hardened muscles you paid five grand for—I’m the experience you’ll never forget.

One night with me and you’ll know exactly why women pay me to be rough.

Fast-paced, ray, gritty and all consuming with a bit of suspense and awesome characters.

Gah!!! This is simply amazing. This is my first Sybil Bartel read and she completely blew me away with this one...I think I am going to be her loyal reader from now on. She has a way about her writing that completely consumes you. This is the type of book that results in ORD (Obsessive Reading Disorder) *lol lol*

The story starts with Jared, a man too handsome and arrogant for his own good. He is ex marine but works as a male escort for the last three years. Money is no issue for him but he likes the control and ladies love him. He considers himself to be heartless with no ability to love. He is not hearts and flowers type of guy. He stays away from relationships and sticks to no strings and one night stands for which rich and spoiled ladies pay him.

Enters sienna (or red as Jared calls her), a preacher's daughter. She is a complete opposite of Jared. She is sweet and perfect, yet reckless looking for a male escort to get over her ex boyfriend. Jared is fascinated with sienna, she touches something deep inside him that he has locked away, she awakes his feelings and Jared knows better to stay away from her but he just can't. Every man has limit right? And one kiss leads to all consuming obsession.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI hated her and I wanted her . I hated her because I wanted her. Women were disposable.

Jared scares Sienna. They both want to keep each other at arm's length but the attraction is too strong to be ignored. It's like electric current flowing in their veins when they are together.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicYou give me your body, Sienna Montclair, and I’ll give you my word.” His lips touched mine. “There’ll be no one else between us.

They have a rough start but as the story picks up pace, they become inseperable leading to a complicated relationship. They know the relation between them is strictly business but they want more. But when sienna's life is turned upside down, Jared is the one keeping everything in place, his protective streak shows.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicFrom the second I laid eyes on her, I wanted to fucking protect her.

He would do anything to keep her safe and with him no matter what, but are they strong enough to get through everything? Do they have a chance at something they never imagined, A chance at love?

Image and video hosting by TinyPicYou’re running. But I’m gonna catch you, Red.

The story is enthralling and heartwarming but don't forget, it's hot with capital HOT. I really like the characters and their contrasting attitude, where Jared is rough sienna is all delicate and soft but she develops a backbone somewhere in the middle of the story making the book much more enjoyable. Jared matures with time, inspite of being a asshole, he turns into a sensible, protective and heartwarming person and I love him for that.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThat’s the beauty of human perfection, Red. It can lay down in a bed of lies and still be fucking perfect. Imperfection makes life real.

All in all I loved everything about this book from the starting till the ending but I just wanted a bit more suspense and some action. C'mon guys he is ex marine you expect some action *haha*. Nevertheless I highly recommend reading Rough, it's worth reading.

Five Things 'FIVE FEET APART' Taught Us

'Five Feet Apart' is an American Romantic Drama,  inspired by a real-life couple Dalton and Katie Prager, who both suffered from  cystic fibrosis . As you all know that I'm not a movie person, I'd choose books anytime over movies but as I am going through 'Reader's Slump' so I decided to watch Netflix and guess what? I found this treasure. This movie impacted me greatly so I decided to share all my takings with you all. Let's start! 1. Live Big because life don't give us enough chances. 2. Take risks , you never know which moment is your last.  3. Love! Don't be scared of it. Loving won't kill you but not doing it will surely kill a part of you. 4. Take chances! We can die today, we can die tomorrow but we can also make our life worth living. 5. Breathe! Take a deep breath and enjoy your today. We are all on borrowed time. Instead of focusing on making your tomorrow good, make your today even better.

REVIEW: Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending. Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower. Sweet. Caring. Charitable. Quiet. Fake. Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language. Who taught her how to laugh. To live. To love. Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero. Gorgeous. Athletic. Rugged. Popular. Liar. This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna. But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore. When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes. Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy TITLE- Broken Knight AUTHOR- L.J. Shen FORMAT- E
