REVIEW: Lightborne (The Bexley Chronicles, #1) by Brindi Quinn

He cups me close to his face, near his mouth, so that his lips are grazing the reaches of my light. “You’re warm, B.” He grins. “Like a small fluttering bird.”
Then, his grin grows into something edging on salacious, and I have one hasty, breathless thought:

. . . He’s going to kiss me?

Nope.
At the last moment, he opens his mouth and shoves me inside.
If I’m not mistaken, I’ve just been swallowed.

. . . . . . . . . .
Bexley Lightborne is not your average run-of-the-mill mortal. She’s a realm-hopping, light-wielding badass . . . with just a touch of amnesia.

As shadows from the dark realm invade the world of light, Bexley enlists the help of a foul-mouthed, baby-faced newcomer holding magickal potential . . . who also happens to be the worst human boy Bexley has ever met.

Tethered together, two unlikely heroes will discover the truth of their forgotten bloodline and fight to reclaim what’s been lost, whether they want to or not.

Four colors collide in a war of light.
And all of this magic stuff? Pretty badass.

I had my eye on Brindi Quinn for a long time but always something came up and I was just unable to read the book. But now that I've finally read it, I can't keep myself from reading other books by Brindi.

Oh, and did you look at that cover? It's so freaking pretty and I would have read the book only because of the cover but that was not the case. So why did I actually decided to give this book a shot?

He cups me close to his face, near his mouth, so that his lips are grazing the reaches of my light. “You’re warm, B.” He grins. “Like a small fluttering bird.”

Then, his grin grows into something edging on salacious, and I have one hasty, breathless thought:

. . . He’s going to kiss me?

Nope. At the last moment, he opens his mouth and shoves me inside.
If I’m not mistaken, I’ve just been swallowed.

Because of this excerpt!! Don't you get all those intriguing feels? After I read the blurb, specifically these lines, my inner reading goddess kept me bugging to go on and pick up this book and freaking read it now!! But I was like, Ammie *face set in a straight line* focus on your damn exams or you'll fail and then you'll be homeless because your parents will kick their useless reading goddess out of their house!

Okay, no more bickering let's just get to the plot!

The story revolves around Bexley, a light Bourne. She is a warrior with a task to defend the modern world from nocturne that is the darkling realm. So Bexley is a fierce badass, full of sarcasm and I loved her for that.

Oh, and she is a mild amnesic. Yes, you heard it right, she suffers from mild amnesia. Intrigued now? So what are you waiting for? Go and read the book *duh*.

Bexley, a turquoise Lightborne thinks it is her sworn duty to protect the Mortals from the Darklings, to activate any dormant Lightbourne and to search for a hidden weapon. She also does not have full access to her memories which frustrates her. She meets Kinley and then she finds that her memories of him are locked deep inside.

So all in all this book is full of suspense and I am not going to reveal any further because it will ruin everything for you. So just take my word and start reading this book. Oh and the romance part was far better than I expected but I am still not going to reveal anything, you will have to read and find out yourself. Do some work guys!!

The world Brindi constructed was just amazing, so different from regular dystopian/fantasy. It was what you call something unique. The character development? Amazing again. I loved Bexley's sassiness.

The romance part? Unexpected and utterly amazing again. * I think I can't find anything else than amazing to define this book!*

The suspense part? Don't even ask me, I can't handle all these rollercoaster feelings *aah* give me the next book already Brindi or I am going to turn mad!!

Five Things 'FIVE FEET APART' Taught Us

'Five Feet Apart' is an American Romantic Drama,  inspired by a real-life couple Dalton and Katie Prager, who both suffered from  cystic fibrosis . As you all know that I'm not a movie person, I'd choose books anytime over movies but as I am going through 'Reader's Slump' so I decided to watch Netflix and guess what? I found this treasure. This movie impacted me greatly so I decided to share all my takings with you all. Let's start! 1. Live Big because life don't give us enough chances. 2. Take risks , you never know which moment is your last.  3. Love! Don't be scared of it. Loving won't kill you but not doing it will surely kill a part of you. 4. Take chances! We can die today, we can die tomorrow but we can also make our life worth living. 5. Breathe! Take a deep breath and enjoy your today. We are all on borrowed time. Instead of focusing on making your tomorrow good, make your today even better.

REVIEW: Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending. Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower. Sweet. Caring. Charitable. Quiet. Fake. Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language. Who taught her how to laugh. To live. To love. Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero. Gorgeous. Athletic. Rugged. Popular. Liar. This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna. But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore. When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes. Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy TITLE- Broken Knight AUTHOR- L.J. Shen FORMAT- E
